Video Lessons
Posted by 馬先生 under Cantonese
I found on Youtube a member who uploaded a bunch of Videos explaining various English vocabulary in Cantonese. Her intention was to teach Cantonese people some English vocabulary, however, I think an Intermediate Cantonese learner would be able to understand her explanations and make good use of these videos to learn how to say these English words in Cantonese with pretty good explanations.

Those clips are really great. I found that with the English words flowing through the dialogues made it more accessible to pick up the Cantonese than if it was 100% straight Cantonese. I’m a beginner and i could listen to some of her explanations in Cantonese. I found these clips really helpful. Cheers!

Posting these clips is really a great idea! I could hardly believe I understood almost 90% of each & every clip. Charlie, Columbus, OH.

Checked out a link to Steve Kaufmann’s blog that was posted on Adam Sheik’s Cantonese Forum, and that’s how I ended up here. Pretty neat site, and great links too! Keep up the work with your Cantonese studies! 加油!

Milan,
I found your website from Steve’s blog. I am really touched by your enthusiasm. You also have a very supportive wife. Not many people are as lucky as you.
As Steve has stressed all the time, the attitude is very important for language learning success, and I can see that you have exactly the right attitude. I hope you all the best in your journey!
As a native Cantonese speaker, I would like to offer my sincere help, so if you have any question regarding the Cantonese language, please feel free to email me.

LOL these are hilarious… I admit they are a good resource for me learning Cantonese, but ironically I don’t know how useful they can be for Chinese people learning English… Most of those expressions are archaic and never used… at least not here in Canada. At any rate, thanks for posting them!
