Hoeng1 gong2 ge3 tin1 man4 toi4 jau5 sap6 zung2 tin1 hei3 ging2 gou3 tung4 maai4 seon3 hou6,
Hong Kong’s Observatory has 10 weather warnings and signals,
其中之一 種係寒冷天氣警告.

One of them is cold weather warning.
當天文台發出呢個警告嘅時候,

When the Observatory issues this warning,
即係表示香港市區氣溫將會顯著下降或者已經下降到十二度或者以下,

It’s good to see that the monologues have come back. BTW, I noticed that this monologue is read in a slowe pace. I was just wondering if it’s to help people get the pronunciation more accurately or something…

Marcelo, the speed of this monologue has no special reason. Just the way it was spoken. I actually thought this one was too easy and told my wife to make it harder in future. Thanks.

Thanks for this one. I find it very helpful indeed. The pace and the content suit my level at this stage. I think it wouldn’t hurt if your wife threw in the occasional slower, easier one for the less advanced learners.
Thanks again for providing these monologues, they are excellent resources.
Kind regards, Neil

The jyutping for mattress is given as zin3 juk2 but it is spoken as cong4 juk2
Thanks for making this, especially topical given the weather in HK!

Thanks Tom. I have updated it to cong4 juk6*2.

Hey
It is great to here how successful you have been at learning cantonese. I am still struggling with Mandarin via chinesepod but I want to learn Cantonese in the future and your information is invaluable.
I came accross this tool in igoogle and thought you may be interested if you don’t already know about it. http://www.se.cuhk.edu.hk/cuvocal
