  5. 5 jihk chìhng 直程/情 — [straight situation] simply, directly, definitely.
  6. 6 jihk lohk 直落 — to have a full evening out on the town, to have a full programme for the night (gywl 29, 14); to finish off the night by having sex (st 4, 37).
  7. 7 jihk sing gēi 直升機 — [helicopter] used to refer to students who can graduate directly from primary to secondary level within the same school, or to students from prestige schools who go on in large numbers to a particular tertiary institution, e.g. King's College to The University of Hong Kong.
  8. 8 jihk tùhng chē 直通車 — [through train] a situation in which there is no need to queue up, one can get through (formalities, etc.) without problem (the "through train" is the direct rail service from Hong Kong to Guangzhou); a political metaphor for the plan to ensure the continuity of Hong Kong's political system and legislature through the 1997 handover to Chinese rule (not realised).
