In Hong Kong, business dinners are an important occasion for building relationships. Knowing proper etiquette can leave a deeper impression on your business partners.
便
First is seating arrangement. Usually the most important guest sits facing the entrance, while the host sits opposite for easy hosting.
Toasting is an important part of a business dinner. When toasting, hold your glass with both hands to show respect. Don't drain your glass in one go unless specifically requested.
During the meal, it is polite to wait for the host to use chopsticks first, or wait until all dishes have been served. Serving food to guests is a way to show hospitality.
The bill is usually handled by the host. If you are a guest, you can symbolically reach for the bill, but don't insist too strongly to avoid embarrassing the host.
