Ah Ming had been working at the company for three years with consistently excellent performance. But recently a new colleague, Ah Kit, kept taking credit for his work, making him very troubled.
On one occasion, Ah Ming had completed a full project proposal, but at the meeting, Ah Kit claimed the proposal as his own and enthusiastically presented it to the supervisor.
Ah Ming felt extremely angry, but understood that he couldn't explode directly in an office setting. He chose to calm down and think about how to handle it.
He first gathered the relevant email records and documents to prove the proposal was completed by him alone. He then arranged a private meeting with the supervisor and calmly stated the facts.
The incident was ultimately resolved satisfactorily. This experience made Ah Ming realize that keeping written records in the workplace is a very important form of self-protection.
